Since our logs are handcrafted, Michigan Log Homes sells a limited number of homes. It all starts at our milling operation. The logs are sorted according to their future use – cabin logs, cedar decking, tongue & groove cedar paneling, lap board, beveled siding, landscape materials and wacko logs. The cabin logs are milled and hand peeled. They are then inspected and stamped by Timber Products Inspection, a national firm that inspects timber logs for their integrity. This inspection is required by B.O.C.A. Building Code. The logs are then shipped to your job site. At your job site, the logs are assembled by laminating each row of logs with a log sealant and then lag screws are used to bolt each log together. This method has been stamped and approved by an independent engineering firm.
